Four Goods and Services Tax bills have been passed by the Rajya Sabha not including the automotive industry directly for the time being. However, as the Government is inching closer to the proposed tax slab, how will it affect the manufacturers, OEMs and most importantly, potential vehicle buyers.
The Goods and Service Tax or a unified proposed bill for deduction of tax has been in talks for a considerable time now. Hijacked Indian cargo ship rescued from Somali pirates but 8 crew members missing::

Somali security forces have liberated an Indian cargo ship from the pirates who hijacked it, but only two of the ten-man crew were rescued, authorities in central Somalia have said.
Abdulahi Ahmed Ali, district commissioner for the pirate-hub region of Hobyo, told local press on Sunday that the “Al Kauser” ship had been held off the Indian Ocean coast near Yemen after the hijacking on March 31 (see more)
Zuari bridge to be ready by Jan 2019, ahead of time: Nitin Gadkari

PANAJI: Despite the delay in land acquisition, the eight-lane cable-stayed bridge over the Zuari river could be completed ahead of the schedule and open for traffic by January 26, 2019, said Union minister for road, transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday. It was set to be completed in April 2019.
Before 2018 December or at the most by 26 January 2019, the bridge will be inaugurated. The work is going on in full swing. During the monsoons, for two or three months, things will slow down but once the structure comes up and the land acquisition hurdles are tackled, it is definite, that by the end of 2018, the work should get over,” said Gadkari after inspecting the progress of the construction (see more)
India Railways to adopt Modi’s Digital India push, make supply chains digital:

Railways has already assimilated 100 per cent E-tenders and E-auctions into the system as part of total digitisation. The Indian Railways will be launching digital contract, a system of digitisation of its entire supply chain across all zones. The step is aimed at improving the ease of doing business and transparency.
With 100 per cent E-tenders and E-auctions already assimilated into the system, railways are further planning to build on these initiatives to achieve seamless flow of material, finances and information (see more)
