Major ports in India to take satellite port route for expansion:

The government-run ports in Chennai, Paradip and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai are developing satellite ports as part of their expansion plans, two government officials aware of the development said.

A satellite port can either be one that is already existing or is created near a port that is reaching capacity. Satellite ports help overcome issues such as limited land availability and draft adequacy, which is depth of water to which a ship sinks according to its load(see more)

Bidding for next round of expressways soon: Gadkari

The government plans to start bidding for the next round of expressways soon.This time around, concrete pavers – expensive equipment that help speed up highway construction – will be used by road developers.

Apollo LogiSolutions in talks to raise Rs300 crore:

New Delhi: Mumbai-based Integrated logistics solutions provider Apollo LogiSolutions Ltd (ASL) is in talks with private equity (PE) investors to raise as much as Rs300 crore to fund its expansion plans, according to two people close to the matter.

The firm has reached out to PE firms, including Hong Kong-based PE firm ADV Partners, for the potential investment, said one of the two people cited above on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to reporters(see more)

Bharatmala to hit ground; 20K km roads in 1st phase: Gadkari

New Delhi, Apr 30 (PTI) An umbrella programme for roads – Bharatmala – will hit the ground soon ending all existing highway projects, including the flagship NHDP, in six months, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said today.
